Internet Archive: Wayback Machine
It seems that a lot of people still don’t know about the Wayback Machine. The Wayback Machine, part of the Internet Archive, contains archived versions of World Wide Web pages. As you might expect, the coverage isn’t completely comprehensive, but you’ll probably be surprised by how thorough it is:
Internet Archive: Wayback Machine
Browse through 40 billion web pages archived from 1996 to a few months ago.
A good example of what can be found in the Wayback Machine is the archive of the St. Edward’s University website. It can be interesting to see the progression of a page or group of pages, over time. The front page has come a long way.
To get the most out of Wayback Machine, you might want to install the Go Wayback bookmarklet. It can come in very handy when doing web research.
